NXT TakeOver: Toronto Match Predictions

Each NXT TakeOver prediction, I’ve been convinced that things would be interesting if every member of The Undisputed Era became champion. Unfortunately, I’ve been wrong and no such thing has happened. But could it happen at NXT TakeOver: Toronto? Putting championships on popular fractions does seem trendy right now in WWE. All three members of The New Day and The OC all have gold on their respective brands. Maybe The Undisputed Era will do the same on NXT? I think they will. Especially, since there have been rumors about an OC vs Undisputed Era feud.

Adam Cole (c) vs. Johnny Gargano

Two-out-of-three falls match for the NXT Championship

Winner: Adam Cole

Who I Would Book to Win: Adam Cole

The leader of The Undisputed Era can’t lose if all four members will be crowned champion at TakeOver. Adam Cole will win his chosen fall, a singles match. Johnny Gargano will win his street fight fall, but Cole will overcome and win General Manager William Regal’s match choice. Cole will retain and win 2 out of the 3 falls.

Shayna Baszler (c) vs. Mia Yim

For the NXT Women’s Championship

Winner: Mia Yim

Who I Would Book to Win: Shayna Baszler

With SmackDown moving to FOX this October, there have been speculations that FOX wants wrestlers with a Mixed Martial Arts background and wrestling style, like Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey. If this statement is true, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler may be called up to the Blue brand soon. But how soon? Will Baszler be making a permanent move to the main roster after SummerSlam or will Baszler stay in NXT until October or November? I’m guessing Baszler will get called up closer to SmackDown Live’s move to FOX. So, I’m predicting Mia Yim will actually defeat Baszler. Baszler will challenge Yim to a rematch at the next TakeOver in November.

Velveteen Dream (c) vs. Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong

Triple Threat Match for the NXT North American Championship

Winner: Roderick Strong

Who I Would Book to Win: Roderick Strong

It may be dream over for Velveteen Dream’s NXT North American title reign. Velveteen Dream has been champion for about 182 days, making him the longest-reigning North American champion. Unfortunately for Velveteen Dream, his reign will probably end at TakeOver: Toronto. The Undisputed Era will take over, meaning we’re getting a new champ. I’m predicting Roderick Strong to the win. Strong will get his first North American Championship reign, and become the second member of The Undisputed Era to hold the title.

Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (c) vs. The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish)

Tag Team Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship

Winner: The Undisputed Era

Who I Would Book to Win: The Undisputed Era

If the Undisputed Era’s prophecy of holding all the NXT championships is set to come true, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish will defeat the Street Profits. In the last few weeks, the Street Profits has spent a lot of time on Raw. A lot of time. It’s rumored that it was Paul Heyman’s idea to feature the team on Raw. While the Street Profits have been featured in some great segments, they haven’t had a match on Raw. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Street Profits made their in-ring debut on the Raw after SummerSlam.

Candice LeRae vs. Io Shirai

Winner: Io Shirai

Who I Would Book to Win: Io Shirai

The Io Shirai heel turn has been one of my favorite storylines leading into TakeOver Toronto. We all seen it coming, just not at that moment. Poor Candice LeRae! LeRae may get her revenge, but not the win. With a new look and a new attitude, Shirari is getting the win. And quite honestly, Shirari needs the win more to boost her new heel turn.
